Bringing big camera to Sesame Place?
Anyone bring their good SLRs to Sesame Place? I would be in withdrawl if I didn't bring it, but I worry about it getting wet or having to lug it around if we park the stoller.
I could always just use 1 lens that day, so I just have to worry about the camera and could leave the empty camera bag in the stroller if I had to.
Thoughts?

I love your pics of DD so I'd miss them if you didn't take it....but I know what you mean will you go on rides with DD and it is PA so I'd be skeptical of leaving it unattended..IDK tough one but I probably wouldn't bring it if i'm going in the water
Are you going with someone who is not going in the water at all?

Aw, thank you! We're going with another family who has a 1-year-old, so they may not take him on all the rides I'm thinking. The other mom (my friend) likes when I take pics of her kids too, so I'm guessing she'll want me to bring my camera so she benefits too
We've never done a park like this since DD was born, so I feel so out of the loop

See, and therein lies my problem if I only bring one lens. My initial thought was to bring my zoom lens (that's the one I use 99% of the time in everyday life anyway), but maybe the regular one is better?
Decisions, decisions

I love my zoom too, in fact, we are in the process of getting a bag for our trip to Florida so I can bring both my kit lens and my zoom
I would be more sad if my zoom broke tho, you know?

I am bringing mine but while one of us is on the rides with DS the other will be with DD since she is only 7 months old.
ETA: if you look on the sesame place website you can rent a big locker for the day for around $15 to access as often as you want. Maybe that is something that you can do too.

I didn't bring mine - but I am nervous nut about stuff like that. I just brought my old camera and it worked out fine.

Re: Bringing big camera to Sesame Place?
I love that you are asking all those Qs about Sesame place. I don't have to create threads now.
I bring my SLR at the zoo. I don't use my big camera bag. I get the one that is like a "funnel" type bag. I have my 18-135mm lens and this is why I got it. So I have an all around lens at all time. Otherwise, get the lens that makes the most sense. Taking pics DD on rides, with characters. Do you think you will need the 18-55mm more or the 55-200 more for those applications?
I put my camera in the travel bag and put it across my body to go on rides with DS. Unless you want to go on adult rides that are "carefree" or on water rides I would not worry too much. It's not like it's super dangerous on kiddie rides. KWIM?

Re: Bringing big camera to Sesame Place?
If you do bring it, I would definately bring a water proof disposable as well...Thats where some of my best shots were taken, on the water attractions and I would no way, bring an expensive camera on those

Re: Bringing big camera to Sesame Place?
I plan on bringing mine to Disney. But we are going with DH's whole family and will have 2 1 year olds with us, so I know someone will be able to watch it when/if I go on rides.
