DO I bring the whole can? in ziplocs bags? it doesn't dissolve well if the powder is in the bottle before the water.Chat Icon

Honestly, I think your best bet is to call the airlines and ask them.

Thats what I did, when I went to FL in Jan, they were very helpful.

I always either brought the packets (Enfamil Lipil) or I put it into one of those sectioned plastic containers they sell in Target or BRU. I never had a problem with it that way. I also packed it in the suitcase in a ziploc bag. I think it would be ok like that in a carry-on too.

I put it in ziploc bags when i'm going out anywhere. I premeasure and just put it in baggies so it's nice and easy and convenient.

I used the RTF small bottles on the plane. You can bring as many as you want.

I brought the formula dispenser on the plane (with enough for several bottles). The bottles were empty at security, then I bought water bottles at the gate to make her bottles. I had two cans of formula in my suitcase for the rest of the trip.

Thanks for posting. I was wondering about this. I figured it would probably be ok to bring the powder on the plane and buy water in the airport to mix. But I'll check with the airline first.

Re: Bringing powder formula on plane? how?

Get a formula dispenser..except I wouldn't get the one posted above. I found that the powder leaks over to the other chambers. Walmart sells one, Parents Choice brand, and it works awesome, no leaking. You CAN bring the entire can if you want though since it's obviously not a liquid. It would just be inconvenient. Also, I had to dump the water in my bottles, so be prepared to have to purchase bottled water after you go through security.

I put 2 scoops into dry bottles and on the plane I asked for hot water and just shook it up.
