Britax vs Recaro seats for the BTDT mommies...
Okay we are getting our convertible seat for DD probably this coming weekend so we have it.
So right now we have a snugride- which still fits but with the bundle me it is starting to get a tad snug so we will have to switch in the next month or two. She is about 17 1/2 lbs now - I expect her to be about 18 lbs by the end of the month as she has been growing exactly 1 lb a month - She is only 25 3/4 inches in length. We have a CRV if that makes any difference.
Ok - so we are looking at the marathon and the boulevard by Britax vs the new Recaro's.
The Recaro's and the boulevard both have side impact protection - does anyone have one that can tell me about it?
TIA!!

I don't know about the Recaro but I have the Britax Decathlon (same size as Marathon). I also have a CRV and it fits.

Can I ask what made you choose the Decathlon - there seem to be so many choices it is hard to pick

We have the Boulevard. We got installed about 2 weeks ago. So far so good and it fits well in my car.

I have the bouvelard for my 2 1/2 and love it, the best feature is adjusting the height, there are no straps to adjust just a knob to turn on the side. My son loves it too, I dont know what we are going to do when we have to get him another seat.

Re: Britax vs Recaro seats for the BTDT mommies...
I now have 2 marathons and love them. I had a Jeep Liberty (same size as CRV) and it fit rear facing in the middle or on the side if the seat is all the way up.
I used to have 1 Marathon and 1 Decathlon but the seat belt adjuster broke on the Decathlon so I returned it. There were no Decathlon's on the shelf since there was a recall for the belt adjuster. I just got another Marathon since I love it.
I don't know anything about the Recaro.

Re: Britax vs Recaro seats for the BTDT mommies...
We have a Britax Wizard (precursor to the Boulevard), and a Boulevard. The reason we went with these two is that at the time we bought them, they were the only seats on the market with the true side-impact protection. If there are new models, I haven't done any comparisons, since I'm not in the market for car seats anymore. Next stage is booster seats for us.
We have both of these big seats in the back of a PT Cruiser, and haven't had any problems.

Re: Britax vs Recaro seats for the BTDT mommies...
We have the Recaro Young Sport (I think that's the name - the one with the five point harness). We looked at Britax and Recaro and my DH thought these were made much better. They have really good side impact protection and are made by the company who makes seats for racecars so I tend to think they know a bit about safety. We've had ours about 20 months and we're very happy with it. The backrest can be adjusted in height to grow with your child so the side impact head protection is always properly placed.
My friend has a Britax and a Recaro and prefers the Recaro.
Also, if you have a 20% off coupon for BBB you can use it on Recaro but not Britax.

OMG...my mother and I were just having this conversation. She was telling me about the Recaro's and how they got excellent reviews and are supposed to be very safe. I have never heard of them. I was going to go to BBB to check them out.

We bought the Recaro and are very happy with it--great side impact protection and more room in the groin area for adjustment with the straps
