Brooke Burke-Charvet Reveals Thyroid Cancer Scare

Brooke Burke-Charvet is usually seen smiling as one of the hosts of Dancing with the Stars, but on Thursday the TV personality had some serious news to report.
"I need to have thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, which means I'm going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck," Burke-Charvet, 41, revealed on The ModernMom YouTube channel. "I don't get to just walk around and pretend like nothing happened or not follow up or not share it, because it's going to be pretty much dead center. I don't want anybody to read about it and get the wrong idea, or think that I'm sick, because I'm not."
The TV host's health news came after a regularly scheduled physical.
"I got my results back days later and they were atypical, which means that the doctors couldn't confirm whether the nodule was cancerous or benign," she says. "So I had to go and do a whole bunch of additional tests and get second opinions. Long story long, I got my results back and they were not good."
But the mother of four is staying positive and moving forward.
"I've booked my surgery," she says. "It's taken me a couple of months to really wrap my head around this. … Now I'm good. I'm ready to deal with it, and I'm going to be fine. I feel really, really strong. Doctors say this is a 'good' kind of cancer to have. … My doctor did tell me this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing."

it's not that big of a scar at ALL..........and it heals nicely, usually.

Idk how to feel about how she put this as I just had this surgery. Yes, the scar is not pretty but it is healing. I am just thankful to be okay.

I had the surgery 12 years ago...and the scar does eventually fade to where you have to look to see it.

Yea for the most part, except for when I blush (which is my whole body blush) then it stays white while the rest of me turns BEET red.
