brother SE400 sewing and embroidery Machine?

Anyone have this or a similar machine from brother? Is it good for beginners just learning to sew, quilt and embroider? I was going to get a singer because it gives you a larger embroidery area but the brother got better reviews on amazon. I'd like to hear some reviews from real people.....sometimes I wonder about online reviews TIA!

I would go with the machine with the 5x7 hoop over the 4x4. 4x4 is too small IMO. I guess it depends on what you want to create though. I bought the 5x7 because I wanted to download appliques to put on shirts, dresses, etc. for my DD. I took it back though since I found the whole process to be annoying and time consuming. I have a Brother sewing machine that I love. I am not a fan of singer.

Thanks! I really want the machine for learning sewing and quilting but figured it would be good to learn how to embroider small things. I am looking at a couple of different brothers. They seem to have better reviews than the singer machines.
