Brought Megan to a play group at school today and I am kinda upset..

A lot of you know that Megan has never been to school. Ive been a SAHM since the day she was born and she has never left my side. With that said, shes been around adults A LOT. There are no other children in my family..so she knows how to speak to adults better than to children.

This morning I had to take her to a play group with kids and teachers that will be in her class in September .She was lucky enough to get UPK so she will be going 5 days a week for 2 1/2 hours a day.

I have never seen teachers so annoyed at the fact that my kid was excited. She asked the teachers a lot..she is so excited to "have teachers." She kept following them around and for the first day, thats very normal! (I used to teach preschool.) They just seemed so stand offish..and the parents!?!?!?!??! OMG..no one even spoke to each other. No one tried to be nice or friendly..every time I tried to start a conversation, it fell flat. WTH???

I was just really disappointed and sad for my baby girl. She did a great job..especially since shes NEVER around other kids. She played so nicely and was just so excited to talk to her teachers..and they blew her off. Even some of the parents looked at her like she was nuts when she spoke to them. Is this the world we live in now? I know it cant be like this everywhere right? I just feel so defeated. I dont know? Maybe I am just sad shes going to school. But at this moment, I am just so sad.

This is EXACTLY how Ava was in the start. She had really not much interest in the other kids, just her teachers, because she had never been with kids before. But you know what? Once you're not there and the other moms aren't there and the teachers are in their comfort zone with the kids, it all falls into place. I promise. Now Ava is the social butterfly of all the kids in her class. She even has a boyfriend
I was a nervous wreck when she started school this year, but I finally let it go, let her find her own way and she did and she's been so great. Megan will do exactly the same thing
