brown water
they were working outside my apartment and now my water is brown.
do i just run it until it runs clear?
how long for that?

When I get brown water, normally there was water main break. I would try in a little while. If it is still brown, I would not drink it. They say to boil it.

I don't think you are suppose to flush if it is a water main break.

If it was a water main break, you probably wouldnt even be getting enough pressure to run the water. I would let it run a while and see if it gets clearer. I'd probably also just boil the water too, to be safe.

That happens when our water is turned off. Let it run, and you are not supposed to drink it for 24 hours then you should be fine.
