BRU policy - anyone return anything lately?
I have seen threads on here about how stores were getting more strict and was wondering whether Babies R Us takes back items without a receipt as long as it has a BRU tag on it. Any recent holiday experiences? TIA!

When I was there this weekend, they told me they wouldn't take anything back without a receipt unless it could be traced back to the original credit card it was charged on.

My son received diapers for christmas and it was the wrong size ~ yesterday we just exchanged for a different size. They did ask my hubbie a bunch of questions ~ took his licence etc.
We did the exchange at the BRU in Sayville
My hubbie also said there was a man trying to return a car seat that he purchased a week or so ago and can't find the receipt and they were giving him a hard time.

Thanks. BRU is kind of far away and I hate to drive all the way there to get rejected, but I got SO many duplicate baby gifts and nobody gave me a receipt and it's such a total waste!

Att BRU Commack they take nothing back without a receipt! I donated lots of items as we were not able to even make exchanges. If you make a purchase with a CC they can look that up for you, but if you received a gift w/o a receipt, you are out of luck.

I would call them first since it's so far. If they say "yes", ask for that persons name.

I was at BRU yesterday. I wanted to exchange pj's my boys got for Christmas. They are Amy Coe which is a BRU brand. they would not take it back without a receipt!! UGH

I called and they said no returns without a receipt. This is ludicrous - I will never shop there again if I can avoid it. It is blatantly unfair, I mean, what do they think people are doing, putting fake BRU tags on items? Seems like they are only requiring a receipt to purposely promote waste and take people's money. I am so annoyed.
