Re: Brussels Griffon..

Hi there I have a Brussels Griffon...
Although I can't help you with a breeder( my breeder no longer breeds his pair) I'd be happy to answer any questions about him you'd like ......

My baby is 6 years old and his name is Jeeves.
He is about 16lbs (2-3lbs over weight) which is about normal for the males
He is super smart and was a breeze to house break
He is a good watch dog (well, as good as a 1 1/2 Ft tall 16lb dog could be)
He has 100 pounds of personality packed in to his little body and always makes us laugh
I must say that he does tend to be a barker
He does not like strangers or other dogs too much ( if the dogs/people are calm he does OK with them) but will deal with them if he must.
Luckily he happens to like kids very much which is very unusual for this breed
I would also say that obedience training is a must with this breed
I must also tell you he does have allergies and as with any dog with bulging eyes he does tend to need eye drops for dry eye
Having said all that he is the sweetest most intelligent dog I have ever owned!
I don't have any pictures of Jeeves on this computer but i found a rescue picture of a dog that looks just like him....HTH Chat Icon

OOPS i found a picture of jeeves with long hair !!

OMG sooo cute...and thank you so much for all the info..Chat Icon i love these dogs but i am just concerned as I am reading alot that they are not good with small children and I am looking to have children in the near future, do you think that it dependent upon the training as far as how the dog is with children? or do you think they are inherently not good with them??..Thanks so much again...

Thank you so much! Is he the perfect family dog for small kids? I 'd have to say no not really unless you are able to spend a whole lot of time training both the dog and the kids how to treat each other.
I was lucky enough to be able to take Jeeves to work with me every day and expose him to a lot of people and thankfully all the little kids he met were always sweet to him plus they usually had food( never a bad thing in his eyes Chat Icon)....and even after all that and obedience training he is still a little skittish.
