BTDT - Registry items 2nd/3rd time around?

So I have been told to register

I have all the basic big ticket items:

stroller (well, it's actually broken haha)
car seat & bases
high chair
bouncer
pack n play
etc etc

This baby is a different gender so I will definitely need clothing and bedding... but besides that, what do I really need?

I don't know how long it has been since you had your first child/ren. For me, it will have been 6 years since my DD was born when the new baby is born, so even though I saved MANY of the big items, I will not be able to use all of them.

For example, we saved the infant seat and bases. But the seat is now expired! Graco and most other model seats only have a 6 year "life" in them before you are supposed to replace them. Only Britax seats have a longer life. So I will be looking into replacing the infant seat/bases for that reason.

Other then that, there are certain items I just want "new" of since technology is better now. I want a new baby moniter, since I just had a basic sound one and there are so many other options out there now.

Hmmm very good points... the big ticket items are all from my first - also 6 years ago. My convertibles are Britax so I guess those can stay.

I needed a double stroller as the only big ticket item. My bedding was/is gender neutral so I didn't need any of that. I did need a lot of clothing since this baby is the opposite sex. I used glass bottles with DC#1 so I needed new nipples and inserts and and pacifiers.

We did register for some nursery deco like the mobile and a new lamp which were gender specific.

I kept the list short since I only had a sprinkle with close family.
