BTDT -crib buying suggestion
Hi Moms, I just wanted to let you know some crib info when you are going out shopping.
If you buy a crib than converts into a toddler/day bed or a twin, you need to purchase a conversion kit separately. You don't just change the crib around.
I didn't know that- we found that out this weekend when we tried to turn the crib into a toddler bed for my 2 year old. We have a simmons/delta sleigh crib, and the kit cost $45.
So if you buy a crib that converts, ask if you will need additional parts ahead of time- just in case when you are ready to change it you want to be sure that you can still order the parts.
Happy Shopping!!

My BTDT advice is to get a crib with a drop down side! It is hard to get a 1 year old over that railing at times! And god help you if you have a bad back!!!

It's funny, growing up, I remember all the older cribs seemed to have the drop-down sides standard (when I would babysit, or cousins' kids). So someone told me to make sure the crib I buy has one, I looked at her like she was crazy, thinking it was standard. We're purposely not getting a convertible crib, because to me, it seemed the convertibles we looked at don't have the drop-down side, and that's very important to me!!!
