BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
I thought that this might be the best place to ask this question..
During your pregnancies, did anyone get a lower heartbeat for their child and have a girl?
We were told girl with a 135 rate and now people are telling us that can't be I have felt girl all along so I am trying not to listen but wanted to ask all of you.

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
The gyno told me girl when HIS heartrate was 140 - then she laughed and said, JK, that's a total myth. Sorry!

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
Don't listen to any of those people. The whole heartbeat thing is an old wives tale! If they told you that you have a little princess in your belly at the doctor's office, that is what you have in there!

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
DD's heartrate stayed in the low 140s and at times did go to the mid/high 130s.
Same heartrate with this PG and it's a too.
I think that's a total old wives tale! I broke all the old wives tales with both my pg's, according to them i should be having 2 boys!

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
It's a myth that the heartrate has ANYTHING to do with the sex - if anything, it has more to do with what you did or did not eat that day. On days I just ate, or had something with sugar, Alex's heartrate would spike. On days when I rushed to the doc and didn't have anything to eat, it was lower - it varied considerably, and yes, there were many times she was on the lower end of the spectrum.

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
DS always had a high heart rate - my sister swore HE was a girl - we didn't find out what we were having....... Also, they say, that the heart rate really doesn't stabilize until like 32 weeks or something. Also, it really depends on how active/not active the baby is when they take the heartbeat. Total wise tale!

Re: BTDT Moms - question about heartbeat
Thank you all so much!! It was the 3D/4D sono that told us girl (and the screen said HR of 135) - we were never able to find out at the Level II - but I firmly belive that he was right.
I try not to pay attention to the wives tales because so far I have been the opposite.
Thanks again!!
