BTDT Moms and 3rd Trimester girls (a laundry ?)....
When did you start washing everything? I'm 35 weeks and curious if i should get started on this or can I wait a lil longer?
Also what exactly do I need to wash? Do i need to take the cover off the bouncer seat and swing to wash? What about my new nursing pjs- do they need to be washed in dreft?
TIA

Re: BTDT Moms and 3rd Trimester girls (a laundry ?)....
I plan to wash everything this weekend....BUT, that's only because we're in the city and don't have a washer/dryer. I plan to go up to my parents this weekend so I figured I'd just get it overwith while I was there and I don't know when I'll be able to get there again.
If I did have a washer/dryer in my apartment I wouldn't necessarily do it now, though it can't hurt of course if you have time. Do a little as you have time I guess.
I'm not washing the bouncer cover, I'm washing baby clothes, blankets, towels, sheets, changing pad covers. I guess anything that will touch his bare skin. The way I look at it is he'll be in the bouncer and swing with his clothes on so I'm not that concerned. But that's me, i tend to be a little more lax about things like that.

Re: BTDT Moms and 3rd Trimester girls (a laundry ?)....
My dad is still sheetrocking 2 closets so that we can get the clothes out of the baby's closet He should be done in a day or so.
I have all ready in a laundry basket all her 0-3 month clothing, bibs, wash cloths, burp rags, towels etc. I am washing EVERYTHING....
I had custom bedding made and I can remove the bumper covers and throw them in the wash. I am borrowing my sister bouncer chair so I'm washing that as well... basically anythign that is going to touch her skin.
I am not using Dreft, instead I am washing all of her stuff was well as any other wash I do in the house, our clothing, bedding etc using All Free and Clear. This is the detergent we have been usign for a while it s basically the same thing as dreft, no perfumes, or dyes.
Think about it you spend all this money on special detergent to wash your baby's clothes in and then you put her on your shoulder and her cheek rubs against your clothing..........
ETA: I think I'm going to start washing everythign next week, I'll be 36 weeks. I want it all done by the time I'm 37 weeks

I'd really love to take care of this, but we are not bringing any baby related items into the house until after the baby is born.
I have clothes in the trunk of my car that I bought, but my sister and my mother have tons of stuff to, so hopefully they have or will be washing everything soon!
ETA: I'll be 37 weeks on Monday

Since I already have a few HUGE containers of Dreft ( I started stocking up months ago whenever I saw a sale), I'll use that. Should I wash our stuff in that too then?

Re: BTDT Moms and 3rd Trimester girls (a laundry ?)....
I plan to wash everything baby related in fragrance free detergent after around 35 weeks. My shower will be when I am 33 weeks and it will probably take a week or so to buy/exchange everything I need.

we are going to wash the bedding, sheets, burp cloths, receiving blankets, etc.. i'll probably start that around 38 weeks.
to be honest, we are not going to wash the baby's clothes until he is born. i want to make sure we bought the right sizes before taking tags off.

Re: BTDT Moms and 3rd Trimester girls (a laundry ?)....
I am 38 weeks today... I washed a few things last weekend, and I plan to do a few more things this weekend.
I just want it clean and in a drawer. I also have a plain sheet on the crib so that's ready, as well as the changing pad cover.

I wash everything before using it- swing, bouncer, highchair, carseat, clothes, changing table pad cover, sheets, blankets, towels, wash clothes- most of the stuff is so small you can do it all in 2-3 loads. Im 33 weeks and plan to do all the washing around 36 weeks.

I would, but that is just because I have SUPER sensitive skin and I'm crazy anal about a few things. It's nto the end of the world if you don't though. If you notice the baby starts getting a rash or reaction after laying on your clothes then wash it with the dreft/perfume free detergent.
MOst babies, won't have a reaction....
