BTDT moms and sleep training multiples in the same room?

ANY advice?

this is getting insane.

the babies WILL not sleep.

I dont know how to do any kind of sleep training or CIO b/c their cribs are right next to each other and so we find ourselves rushing to "quiet" the other one down.

We sleep trained one at a time. We started with the more difficult one. They pretty much slept through the other one crying, though. If they wake each other up, can you have one sleep somewhere else (PNP, etc) for a few days while you train each of them?

Re: BTDT moms and sleep training multiples in the same room?

I had one move into the guest room temporarily. I know this is easier said than done because I am not sure if you have the extra space. Honestly I would move the less difficult one somewhere (the living room) for a while.

I am also meaner than you, I sleep trained them earlier before they "noticed" that they were temporarily moved to the guest room.

I did the sleep training and CIO method while they were together. I did not care if one baby woke up the other, I let them CIO. It was very hard for 2-3 nights but after that it seemed to work. There were nights down the road when one baby would be screaming their head off and the other would sleep through it. Even to this day they don't wake up unless the other one comes over to their bed and shakes them. I highly recommend keeping them together and doing it together. Unless you plan on seperating their bedrooms.

Re: BTDT moms and sleep training multiples in the same room?

I did CIO with them in the same room with their cribs next to each other at 9 months. They eventually learned to sleep through each others crying. It took 3-4 days and now when one is crying the other does not wake up!!

**I bought the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Twins" It says it's better to sleep train together so they get use to the other crying. That was my goal.

Good Luck!! Chat Icon

I let them CIO and they have learned (after a few bad nights!!!) to pretty much sleep through the crying. I had no other choice....separating them didn't work.
