I recommend the birthing class. Even though all the breathing went out the window during labor, it was very informative and good for DH.
I also liked being in a class where I could ask questions, etc... and we met some nice couples too.

I took one at the obgyn's office - waste of time/money.
Watched some movies of things I didn't want to see
Went over the breathing techniques - didn't really practice them enough
Basically if you've seen 1 tv show when the woman had a baby breathing he he he hooo you've got it covered.
We did go to the hospital -
The best thing I learned from the birthing class was:
ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH GAS TO GET TO THE HOSPITAL.

I like the birthing class ~ I really wanted to go because they gave us a tour of the maternity/birthing & nursery wing of the hospital.

I'd offer to lend it to you, but my DH lent it to a co-worker. Its a 2 disc set and it's perfect. He benefited from it more than I did and he used it during my labor!

I watched the laugh and learn series for birthing, BFing and newborn care. I felt confident that it was enough. I wound up with a C so I'm not really sure.

I enjoyed our lamaze class. We did it at our hospital. I think DH learned a lot, it was nice to be able to ask questions and get reassurance I was doing the breathing right. It also made DH and I more confident with getting to the hospital and to know where we were supposed to go. One of the nurses who taught the class was on when I was in labor. She popped in to say hi and give some words of encouragement.
