BTDT moms-What would you or your pediatrician consider a Chronic Ear INfection? At what point did you consider seeing a pediatric ENT?
My pedetrician mentioned that it is not unusual to see frequent ear infections this time of year. At what point did you consider seeing a pediatric ENT? Who is your Pediatric ENT?
Thanks!

My DS was getting ear infections every month. When he was still getting them after cold and flu season my ped said we should see an ENT. We use Dr Richard Littman in Port Jeff. He is awesome and we decided on tubes, which was one of the best decisions we ever made. He also went on to have his adenoids/tonsils removed (another great decision) Since then Damien is *knock wood* hardly ever sick.

When DS got one EI, went on antibiotics, finished them, and 3 days later had ANOTHER EI, went on antibiotics, finished them, and a week later had another one, this went on and on for over 3 months.
Dr. William Spencer in Huntington.

Thank you Stacey! I live in the area. Lucy's had 4 ear infections in the last 6 months. My pediatrician mentioned that if she doesn't clear up this most recent ear infection, then we could consider exploring an ENT.

wow! Lucy's ear infection on 3 occassions cleared up. The first one they put her on amoxicyclin (?spelling) which didn't work. My pediatrician then switched her to Cefdinir...that cleared it up.

My niece had tubes put in and from what I understood, it matters more the time of year she is getting the ear infections. If they are chronic and "off season" then that is when they consider it. My niece, actually didn't have many but it was affecting her hearing.
