BTDT moms who had 1st birthday entertainment
which entertainment works best for a 1st birthday party?
the kids age range is 12 months to 7 years old.
there will be about 6 kids 12 months to 18months and about 6 kids 3-8 years old
here are the options with my own 2 cents:
a balloonist - i am thinking all kids love balloons, this could be really cool but will it provide enough entertainment factor?
a magician that will also do balloon twisting- i am thinking that all the 12-18 kids will not really know what is going on or really care.
muscial entertaiment- my dd loves to dance to music.it could be fun or lame for all the other kids?
a puppet show- i dont think the 12-18 months will really care?
any input would be very helpful! thanks!!!

The clown/entertainer will do balloons, face painting, cotton candy, a character, songs, games etc
We got rave reviews from all kids at DDs 1st bday.

I just had DS christening on Sunday- and we hired a magician.
He put on a show, balloon, face painting, and made cotton candy.
He was great- if you want his info I will send it to you.
The adults had a great time too!

I live in NJ but we had a face painter and a balloonist. After they were done, the balloonist did a magic show for 45 minutes. It was great! The adults got into it as much as the kids did!

My friend just had her son's birthday (1st) on Saturday and had a puppet show. It was really cute and the kids really liked it. Let me know if you want me to get the details.

I would do music for that age range. It should appeal to all of them. A magician will be WAY over the head of a lot of these kids, and some young children get scared of them.
Kids love balloons but they tend to pop once the kids get at them, and that will probably scare someone. Which could result in a meltdown, and at times they tend to be contagious. We just had my son's 2nd birthday, and I wanted no balloons in sight for that event, for this reason.

We used Nick the Balloonatic and he was awesome. Definitely enough entertainment. He even had the adults laughing hysterically.
