BTDT mom's...How to go to the Beach with more then 1..

we are big beach goer's and last yr not at all being PG and too hot to do anything.

The girls are 8 and 1/2 months, Noahs 3..I cannot figure out how I will do this???

what do I do with the babies? Will they get too hot? Is an umbrella enough? Should I bring the beach mini tent thing I have?

And can I do it alone?? No right? B/c When Noah wants to go in the water, I cant carry both babies?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Go by yourself. Chat Icon . I wouldn't attempt that.

As for with another person, I'm still dreading it but Matteo really wants to go so we will have to give in soon. I'm going to go the first time with minimal stuff and see how it goes. An umbrella, a blanket, etc - no beach tent or anything. My only issue is going to be carrying them onto the beach. I bought one of those beach caddy's. DH and I were joking because the weight limit is 75 pounds so if we put both babies in, we should still be able to carry our stuff!! Seriously though, I bought one of those big wagons. Only problem is, the twins don't really sit too steadily on their own. Other option is of course the stroller. No way we could each carry one, hold Matteo's hand and push the beach caddy. If I go before you, I'll let you know how it goes

I've been wondering the same thing for next summer when I get to that point.

I'm not sure doing it on your own is possible -- can you go with a friend who has kids so one of you stays by the babies. Not sure where you live, but if you near Town of Babylon, Lindenhurst and Copiague have small local Great South Pay beaches which might be easier as a first attempt and both also have a sprinkler park which would be much easier.

Where does one get one of those beach caddy's? I think I want one for this year just to help schlepp our stuf and my 3 year old daughter since I can't carry everything while 20 weeks pregnant.

I want to go soon, but won't attempt it on my own!! I have to get one of those tent things for the babies to hang out under.

I keep thinking about this, but don't think I will do it on my own. Its just too dangerous. I won't be able to do a pool by myself either. Its hard enough to watch them both at play dates in someone's backyard!

I would not attempt it either. I was going to go to Long Beach one time solo with the boys when they were about 15 months old. Last minute two girlfriends came along and thank god.....one of the boys kept running off. It was crazy.

They just would not sit still for anything. I realized then only with other people and even then I went to the beach with them with my whole family and I left after an hour exhausted.

I really did not enjoy the beach with them until they were over 2. Then they enjoyed the water and sand and sat in one place.

Maybe you can get a babysitter to watch the twins and you and DH can take Noah solo. That would be so much more enjoyable for you!
