BTDT Moms...question about solids and DC refusing
We started peas this Sunday and Lucas has not been happy about it. He wants nothing to do with it and will even refuse the cereal at the same sitting.
I'm all for letting him exert his independence and opinion but I wanted to talk with all of you about this. I stopped for now...we are going back to squash and sweet potatoes since I have a ton in the freezer anyway. I am hoping to try again at the end of the week. What has been your experience? Do I try again and if he refuses again should I just stop? Does he HAVE to have the peas?

This is my constant battle with Jacob! If he doesnt like a new food, I reintroduce it a day or two later. Eventually he eats it. if he throws it on the floor, I take it away from him. Mealtime is always a battle

Nope, you dont have to have anything really.....Give it some time....I waited like 5 weeks before re introducing Pears b/c Noah didnt like them....he likes them now.
We dont do peas , he hates them. I will mix some in when he gets to meats probably to disguise the tatse.

Thank you both for the replies! I am going to hold off and see if he'll take them again at the end of the week. If not we'll just move on.

I also gave DD peas and she hated it. I put a little bit of applesauce and she finished the jar. I am going to try again later this week.

Jack was constipated with bananas so I just stopped. I'll try again in a few more weeks. I will be starting peas this week - should be fun!

I'll have to remember this be because Lucas starts fruits in 2 weeks and I was planning to start bananas first.

Yep - everything else was fine but the bananas are binding.

I have to laugh (not at poor Jack's experience) because a year ago I didn't realize our conversations would turn from home, fashion, etc to food and bowel movements. So much has changed...but for the good.
