Re: BTBM...stupid question about dilation
For DS I did not feel anything. I had an exam 39 weeks and was closed and tight. The next day my water broke (slow leak). That was about 5:30 pm. I was first examined at about 7 pm and I was already 7 cm. I did not feel it at all. I am sure that there are other people who felt every millimeter, but DS was breech so I really think that played a huge role in my not feeling things.

Re: BTDT...stupid question about dilation
no, other than the pain of transitional labor which lets you know youve clearly dilated more, you cant actually feel any cervical changes

Re: BTDT...stupid question about dilation
No, I didn't actually feel the dilation... besides the pubic bone pain and contractions being so close together, I was shocked that I was already 6-7cm when i got the hospital the day I gave birth. I didn't even feel the "transition" that everyone talks about, but started to feel pressure a few hours later and when they checked me I was 10cm.
