Bubba had an ultrasound- (Small update) in thread
Some of you might remember that we had to put our cat, Mikey, down in August, b/c he had stomach cancer and wasn't responding to treatment. I cry every day because we miss him so much.
Our other cat, Bubba, has been losing a lot of weight in the past few months. Mikey was a pig and would eat all the wet, so Bubba did lose 1-2 lbs in the past year due to that, but since sept, he's lost another 2...way too much. He eats every day, just about half of what he used to. His stools are also soft and small...not all one piece.
In Nov, vet did complete blood workup, fecal and urinalysis. Everything was normal. She did and x-ray and the kidneys looked a little weird in size, but since function was normal, I'm not worried about that.
Finally, after a month or wait-and-see how he does, we decided to have them do an ultrasound. The only think they found was that the lining of the intestines and bowel were a mildly thick. She said it could be anything from irritation, to inflammatory bowel disease, to lymphoma. So now we need an endoscopy ($$$) and biopsy to get a diagnosis.
Has anyone had a cat or dog with thickened intestinal lining? I'm hoping it's just lymphoma. Everything else we can deal with and treat.

Re: Bubba had an ultrasound
This sucks. He was scheduled for an upper and lower endoscopy today, but the vet called yesterday and there was some mix up and it couldn't be done (long story). I spoke to the vet before and she said that the specialist was going to be on vacation until after the new year, so suggested her referring us to a specialist clinic. We've already dealt with LI Vet specialists in plainview and really liked them...expensive, but at this point, we want to know what's going on. The vet is going to make a few calls to see if we can get him in this week and she's going to call me back later. I can't believe we have to be so worried about my kitty this week.
She did keep saying that "it's hard when you don't have a diagnosis" and that since "they didn't find anything" with the sono that the next step is the endo. I guess that's good, b/c they're doing it all to rule things out, not find out what something is. Know what I mean?
Kitty was also on clavamox since Friday and has been harly eating. Otherwise, he's acting totally normal. He slept with us last night, which is usualy. He played, purrs, is affectionate, etc. Vet said to discontinue the clavamox, b/c it might cause lack of appetite. Ugh...tired of analyzing things.
At least he seems like he feels ok. If he was lethargic or seemed uncomfortable, I would be much more worried.

Did you hear back from the vet? Will you be able to get him in this week? That's so frustrating!!!! I was thinking about him last night. I hope he starts eating now that you're stopping the clavamox.
