bug spray and sunscreen
whats the earliest you have applied these to your children? what is a good 'bug spray' to use that is safe. i was outside last night and there were so many mosquitoes we had to come inside.

I don't know what age to start using bug spray, but I bought the California Baby one (it's all natural, no chemicals) for DD. We've used it twice so far this year...she just turned 2. I didn't have a need for bug spray before then.
I also use the California Baby sunblock too.

6 months for sunscreen (I can't remember the name but we use the one where the dog is pulling the girl's bathing suit on the label)
18 months for bug spray (OFF Family) - Not sure if there's a minimum age, but we just waited. If we were out we'd use citranella (sp??) candles. Now they make those OFF repellers that clip to clothing, not sure how realistic they are to use on kids though.

Another fan of the California Baby bug spray...I waited until she was a year old to use it. On my second DD, I will have to use it this summer for sure since we are outside all the time...she is 7 months and I feel comfortable using it on her.

I use the California Baby bug spray. DS is 2. I use mostly on his clothing. Not the skin.
For sunscreen. Last year I had such a hard time finding California baby. So I used baby blanket. This year, I am using California baby.
