Building permit inspector
The other day we came home and there was a note hung on the door that somebody from Nassau County came by for a building permit inspection. We aren't currently doing any work on our house. We did a dormer but that was over two years ago and I think all of that was handled by the builder back then. Could that be associated with that still? Why else would a building permit inspector come by? It seems really random. We live in the town of Hempstead if that makes any difference.

Are you sure you closed out the permit? We did an extension and our contractor handled the application and inspections during construction, but we had to submit the final paperwork (because we needed a new survey after it was finished) to get our co. Do you have a co?

We had the same thing for a while, but I knew we didn't close out the CofO yet. The inspector would come around roughly once a year, just to check up on things. Once we finally closed out the CofO, they stopped coming by.
