Busing??
DD is starting kindergarten in September 2015 I have left multiple messages with the department of transportation (the school gave me the number) and no one is calling me back I want to know if we qualify for busing/what the busing schedule/times will be/how I go about signing her up for busing if I need to utilize the bus etc... How can I go about finding out this information TIA

Re: Busing??
I think for most Kindergarteners, everyone qualifies for busing. Somewhere around 3rd or 4th grade, it's typically anyone more than half a mile from the school. That's at least our district policy. There's no way for them to give you a schedule until they know who, where, and how many kids need to be picked up. When you register for school, you register for transportation.

Re: Busing??
In our school district, everyone in elem gets busing as long as the budget passes.

Re: Busing??
Our school it goes by distance. We are walkers as are many others.
You do not sign up for the bus. You register for kindergarten and they determine eligibility based on where you live. We got the bus information about a week or two before school started (my older child gets a bus to her school).
If you have kids in your neighborhood you could ask your neighbors about the bus. That was how I found out details before we got our paperwork.
Our district has busing eligibility on their website. So it would say something like primary and Elemanytary schools .5 miles, middle school .75 miles, high school 1 mile for example.

Re: Busing??
It usually goes by distance. In my community we do not get bussing because our house is less than 2 miles from the school. We are 1.6 miles away. So we drive and pick up our kids. Ask your immediate neighbors to your left and right.

Same with our district... We are less than 0.5 miles so we are walkers.

Busing??
Check your school website for the bus schedule and see if any stops are near to your house. The office at the school would be able to tell you what's near your home also...especially the registrars office.
