Buying a house & changing jobs
Has anyone changed jobs within a year prior to buying a house? Did you have a problem getting a mortgage because of it?

Re: Buying a house & changing jobs
I was looking for a new job around the same time we were looking at houses. The mortgage company told me it would not be a problem as long as the job was in the same industry and a similar (or higher) salary.

Those mortgages usually have a much higher interest rate.
There is no reason why switching jobs should be an issue. Just as long as you stay in the relatively same field you will be fine.

yes, I changed jobs within the year. And changed again right before we closed (1-2 months) They listed both jobs!
