Buying a new car...
I went on Edmunds.com and researched the MSRP prices versus the invoice.
Now how do I go in & try to get a deal? Do I mention the research that I did or what? Obviously, the dealers prices are higher than what they paid. They obviously need to make a profit too. Any 'bargaining' advice is appreciated...thanks!

We leased and didn't buy but did negociate. Some of the things I did was
I went with DH...I think some of those dealers see a woman alone and take advantage
Also be prepared to walk away...they NEED your business these days. Don't fall to inlove with a car (atleast not infront of them)

ITA with this. Also bring the invoice price & work from there. Easier to go that route than to talk them down from sticker price.

Re: Buying a new car...
I went to Consumer Reports and paid to get the dealer cost on the car. Then I printed it out, allowed for the dealer to make about $500, and went into the dealer with MY price. If they agreed - I bought the car, if not I walked out. Worked at the second dealership I went to when I bought the Celica, third dealership with the Santa Fe.
Be prepared for obnoxious salesmen, I was told that my numbers were ridiculous, that I wouldn't find anyone who would give me that price, etc.

Re: Buying a new car...
I go in with the invoice price and tell them to beat it. Once I paid $200 over invoice (time of year new model) and almost all the other times I pay invoice and below.
Once you find the car that you definitely want with all the equipment then you go in with the price.
And for pete's sake don't negotiate on a monthly payment. If your credit is good, tell them that. If you have a trade in don't say anything about it until you have negotiated the price you want to pay. When they ask you about a monthly payment, say you're not sure you will be financing it. If they ask you about a trade say no trade.
Good luck!
