Buying a new home!
I have not spoken too much about our home, but we are looking for a new house again! I am so excited! When we looked for our first house I feel we made a lot of mistakes, and did not stick to our guns regarding what we wanted and how much we thought certain things were worth. This time we are taking our time to find exactly what we want, and it is a whole different experience.
I cannot wait

I hear ya loud and clear.
We too are looking to move (from Nassau to Suffolk). We too settled on a few things that are DRIVING US CRAZY right now. We are very excited as well but sure that next time, we won't settle. Even if takes us forever to find that new home, we are in our home now and can wait (although impatiently) for the right home to come along. We don't want to make any mistakes next time around since we know so much more about what we MUST have.
It is exciting!!! Are you planning to stay in the same neighborhood?

Re: Buying a new home!
- make a list of your "must haves". when viewing homes, bring the list with you and compare the home to your list - get all available literature of homes that you viewed and make notes of your likes and dislikes - note EVERYTHING and ask a lot of questions - once the selections has been narrowed, drive through the neighborhood at different hours of the day/night - DO NOT SETTLE

Re: Buying a new home!
Thank you skew! Yes we are going in WAY more prepared this time. I feel like we romanticised the last house. We thought of the potential more than the reality of it, and got overwhelmed with the fixing. No more fixers for us! Also I am not settling on neighborhood. That is another thing I wish I had stuck to my guns more when we looked last time.
So off to a gazillion OHs today. I don't know why but I am nervous. Almost like going to a job interview
