buying contact lenses online
Specifically AirOptix. I need more contact lenses - I've never purchased them online. Is it cheaper? Is it a hassle? I have a copy of my prescription... do I have to send it to them somehow? Does it take forever?
Any information from those who have purchased lenses online before would be helpful! TIA!

Re: buying contact lenses online
i order from 1800 contacts all the time
they call your dr to verify the prescription (i think you can also send it to them electronically). they have to carry that brand/type of contacts obviously, but you can see all the pricing options online when you check. i'm not sure if the prices are cheaper, mine have switched a lot in the last few years and its hard to keep track. i use them for convenience mostly

Re: buying contact lenses online
I always found competitive pricing on Webeyecare.com. The last time I purchased them from my eye dr (Cohen's) though - they matched the web price!

I order all the time online. I find its way cheaper and yes they usually ask that you either scan your prescription or provide your doctor's contact info so they can confirm a valid prescription.
Also a lot of times they have promo codes you can use so make sure to check for that prior to purchasing.

I text a picture of my script to 1800 contacts to speed up the order. If you don't send them the script, they will call the Dr to verify. In the past, I've been able to buy from 1800 contacts and then "price match" to a cheaper offer online. I think I paid the 1800 price and then got a refund for the price difference.

Re: buying contact lenses online
I get mine online at BJs optical. By far the cheapest per box for my lenses.

Re: buying contact lenses online
I use Vision Direct. I just fill in the online form with my Doctor's information- just the name and phone #- and they call and verify the prescription
