Buying Maternity clothes online?
Do you think it's ok to buy maternity clothes online, or is it better to go to a store to try them on?
I figured shirts are ok to get.
Thoughts?

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I have not tried buying maternity clothes online because I like to try things on and make sure they look right on me...I never buy regular clothes online either though.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I bought one maternity spring jacket on-line and though I bought my pre prego size, as was told, it was too small. I have found that even in my 3rd trimester I am wearing maternity clothes that range in size from small to large and that's even the case with the same designer. I would suggest steering away from on-line buying since you can't try the stuff on before buying it. But that's just my humble opinion.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
as long as i know what size i am in that particular store and i don't have a problem returning the items, i would and have ordered online. keep in mind that a lot of the maternity stores like pea in the pod and motherhood do not allow returns, ever, only exchanges within 10 days.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I actually bought a pair of maternity jeans online and they fit well--just a little big in the belly being that I am only 13 weeks. I just followed the sizing guide. Most places have free returns anyway, so why not try?
ETA: Gap and Old Navy have an excellent return policy. I didn't know about Pea and Motherhood's policy.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did I miss your announcement?!!?!?!?!?!!? Where the hell have I been? Wait! Did I know this? I am so confused!!!
Congratulations!!!!!
I liked buying stuff from Old Navy because thier shipping was only $5 total for everything you bought. (Not sure if it still is.) If I didn't like something, or it didn't fit, I could bring it back to any store, not just a store with maternity.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I am plus-sized, so I've only bought maternity clothes online (since finding them in any store is murder ).
A few things have had to go back, but for the most part, I've had pretty good luck! As one of the PP said, if you order your pre-pregnancy size, you should be ok--however, a few things I ordered in my size won't last me the next month.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
i actually jumped the gun and bought some things on line before i started getting big and none of it ended up fitting. it was all too huge.
if you're fussy about your clothes pre-pregnancy (like I am) and wear different sizes from different stores, i strongly recommend trying things on first.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
i did MUCH better with stuff i tried on in the store. i actually don't wear any of the stuff i ordered online because, even though it fit, i don't like how it looked at all. when you find sales at motherhood, kohls, etc the prices are fantastic

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I always bought a lot of maternity clothes from Old Navy online. There is so much of a better selection online and you can return them to the store.

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I buy most of my maternity clothes on-line at Gap and Old Navy. The have great return policies and I've found there sizing to be right on (for me).
Good Luck!

Re: Buying Maternity clothes online?
I have ordered a number of things before and i usually end up keeping 1/2 of the items.
But i always order from gap, old navy or target where i know that the return shipping is free or that i can go to the store to return them.

This is what happened to me. I actually wore one pair of pants and they were falling down all night.
