Buying Sheets
I need to pick up some new sheet sets for my bedroom. Everything I have is from my shower 2 years ago and I'd like some new stuff.
What should I look for when buying sheets? What type of fabric, thread count, etc.? TIA

Re: Buying Sheets
I like a high thread count! 450 thread count is what I have now. They are nice. I would go higher next time.

Re: Buying Sheets
I have 600 threadcount sheets that I purchased from Overstock.com. I have a few different sets too. I think they are so soft and comfortable.
I look for the Egyptian cotton sheet sets. I bought a sateen set once, and I regretted it. I thought they made too much noise, like they were stiff and crunchy. I really can't describe it.
I've seen pima cotton sheets, and they are usually expensive, but I've never splurged and bought them.

Re: Buying Sheets
I like the beech sheets from BBB - I think they're the softest.

Re: Buying Sheets
I also have 600 thread count from overstock.com... I'm very happy with them. Higher thread count = softer

Re: Buying Sheets
I know someone who swears by bamboo sheets. They're supposed to be extremely comfortable. I know that she tried a lot of high count/high quality cotton sheets before settling on bamboo..hth!

Re: Buying Sheets
it's not about the thread count, it's about the quality of the cotton.
you can buy 250 TC sheets that are softer than 1000 TC.
go for pima cotton if you like really soft sheets.

Re: Buying Sheets
I usually buy mine at Home Goods or TJ Maxx bc you can get 300, 400 thread etc count sheets for around $40.00...and every since I started buying those I never buy anything less than 300 count!

I currently have a 400, won't go less. I am dying to see how the 1000ct feel.
