Re: c-section mama's?

I had a c/s with my first, and I assume it all came out with the baby. I never saw it though.

I bled for about 5 weeks after the c/s, and since I also had a V-birth after that, I can say you bleed so much more from a v-birth vs a c/s.

They take it all out when you have a c-section. I bled a lot for 6 weeks afterwards (3 were really bad). I can't comapre it to a natural birth though so i don't know how much more or less it was.

Awww don't be scared. I think they removed the after birth after the baby came out. I did not see it.
I did bleed for about 4-5 weeks after and then lovely AF arrived about 9 weeks PP.

Don't be scared - you're going to bleed either way. I didn't find the bleeding to be THAT bad with a c-section. Not that I have anything to compare it to but I was expecting it to be a lot worse!

I bled light but steady for about 6-7 weeks. 2 weeks after surgery I hemorrhaged... it felt like a gush and was literally all over the bathroom floor and filled the toilet (sorry TMI). I was terrified and we called the doc at midnight on a Sunday. Turns out it is 'normal' and probably was where the placenta was attached and just took me longer to pass it.

I agree.. I bled for about 4 weeks, just the first 3 days or so I would consider "heavy". After that it was just a steady amount. Then I got AF at about 9 weeks pp. I guess they remove it all during the procedure... I never saw anything.

Dont be scared... I had an absolutely WONDERFUL c-section experience and recovery!!! I would not have done it any other wayChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: c-section mama's?

Maybe a little TMI but I wanted to see mine so I know they take it out. As for the bleeding, sorry to report I am two weeks post c section and yup Chat Icon still bleeding. Another unexpected joy of mommyhood. You get to catch up on 9 months worth of missed periods!

I had 2 c-sections and they take everything out, you don't see a thing.
As for the bleeding, it was a little heavy for a few days and then it was like regular bleeding and that lasted for me for about 4 weeks. I don't know how the bleeding is for a vaginal birth since I didn't experience it.
I had great experiences both times, I wouldn't change a thing.
Good luck to you Chat Icon

Re: c-section mama's?

They take it out and I've hardly bled at all, just the 1st day or two and so far this week not at all. Maybe bc I haven't been moving around much, but so far very light if anything.

Re: c-section mama's?

Yup, they take it all out, thank god. And I didn't actually start bleeding until a week after I had the baby, and then it last less than 2 weeks frmo what I can remember.

Re: c-section mama's?

They take it out. I never had a v birth only 2 c-sections but I bled with the first one for 4 weeks not much but with the 2nd I bled for 7 weeks alot they even gave me a shot in the hospital to make me bleed less. Its nothing to be nervous about.

Re: c-section mama's?

They actually dumped water inside me to clean me out during my C... I dont know if it's common but I think it is for infections sake. I bled for about 5 weeks but it was like lite spotting from about 3 weeks on. It was never terrible though.

I barely bled afterwards. I bought a whole package of heavy duty pads in anticipation. I used 1!! Within a week of leaving the hospital, my bleeding stopped.

me too. I bled quite a bit in the very beginning in the hospital, but after that it was very light.
