c section moms- with an extra question

when can i start going up the steps?

im sick of walking in circles on one floor.....

I think I remember my hospital telling me no stairs for a week. I can't really remember- the only thing in the basement is the washer/dryer and I was 'off duty' after the c/s

eta: every hospital/patient is different... I went down into the basement after 3 days to get toilet paper- duh- totally forgot... and I was fine. My coworker went down a flight of stairs after 8 days and tore her scar open. Listen to your body

i had to go up the stairs to get into my apartment so i did that (obviously) when i got home from the hospital

i wouldn't start running up and down the stairs or anything, but I'm sure you can do it if you take it easy! how long ago was your c/s?

dr told me 2 weeks but I live on the 2nd fl so kinda hard to avoid- I only went out 3 times though- I was not about to check the mail everyday KWIM- left that for DH!

I live in a split level and didn't listen to the stairs restrictions. I wasn't running up and down them or carrying the babies up and down them but I didn't stay on one floor either.

6days pp and i HAVE to go up and down, we live on a 2nd story condo.

my OB said its fine, just go slowly one step at a time and use the rail if you need it.

Just took my time.
My bathrooms and bedrooms are all upstairs and I was NOT sleeping on the couch OR staying upstairs all day!

I was told to only go up and down once per day (2 story house) for the first 2 weeks

I didn't listen too hard.

I try to go up and down once..3 weeks into it I go up and down more often..but honestly the first 1-2 weeks the stairs were rough even the once. When the staples came out it was easier.

I was up & down the first day. We have a splanch with all bedrooms on the top floor, I had no choice but to go up or sleep on the couch downstairs

My bedroom & bathrooms are upstairs, so I was going up the stairs as soon as I got home. I just took it easy, and did the stairs one at a time. DH went back to work after 1 week, so then I was up and down with the baby.

I started sleeping on my side in the hospital once the IV and cath were out...I hate sleeping on my back.

day one for me.. i lived on the second floor!

Just take them slow and don't carry anything.

I was told no stairs for 2 weeks but I had complications. Me being me, I tried them when we got home and needless to say, I regretted it the moment I did.
