C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I am finding recovery from my c-section really tough, and I find myself constantly wondering when will I feel normal again?
I have an infection in my incision, which means that I am taking antibiotics, and I have to go to the doctors to have the wound dressed by a nurse pretty much daily, I have a trapped nerve in my left leg which is pretty much rendering me immobile, I can't sit in a chair and my leg aches like crazy all the time. Oh, I have terrible trapped wind also....
I swear that after having Noah naturally I was running through a field of daisies in a white skirt or something two weeks post partum! I am find this all really depressing...
So, when did you feel normal again??? Tell me I'm not the only one!!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I had a section, I did not have any issue with the incision area but I was in pain and was hormonal. I think everyone is hormonal though and I am sure all in pain in some way. How many days/weeks PP are you?

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I had a crash c-section so was recovering from the anestesia as well. I think everyone is different. I didn't have any infections. I was def starting to feel better when we got home from the hospital. A full 2 weeks was a lot better and the gas pain was going away. That part stunk!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I wasn't back to my normal self for at least a good 6 weeks or so - it's rough in the beginning, but I promise this will all be a distant memory. DO NOT be a martyr - if you need meds, use them. And, as much as possible, move around, because that's the fastest way to recovery

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I just had my second c-section 12 days ago. I am finding this recovery to be a lot harder than the 1st time around. It took them 7 tries and collapsed my vein twice to get the IV in so my right arm is one huge bruise. The first time around my incision got infected and it took 2 rounds of antibiotics and going to the dr a couple of times per week to get the incision drained. It was a lot better by a month PP. It was prob around then that I felt almost back to normal.
I also felt better once I could get out and drive myself places. I went out almost every day and just getting out of the house made me feel better.

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
Im sorry your not feeling that well. I had my C section (my first baby) on 2/11. I had no major problems and was up walking around the next day. I would say after a week I felt great. I was back to doing normal everyday things (not over doing it). for you. Feel better soon!!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I would say 1 1/2 weeks to feel better-if you can, walk-that helped my tremendously-but listen to your body and don't overdo it. And take the pain meds if you need to-there is no shame in that! Feel better!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I had a lot of pain after my c-section. I would have to do contraction breathing just to get myself up off the couch. I never had an infection in the incision, but I can imagine that is making it a lot worse! I would say after about 2-3 weeks I could walk around a little more normal. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
My 1st section I felt normal about 2 weeks after. This time around, it took a good 4 weeks till I felt like my old self, with some pains and twinges here and there.

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
It took me 2-3 weeks to really feel "okay" and a while after that to be completely pain-free.
I had fluid under my incision which was causing some pain too until it was drained.
I had a LOT of pain when trying to get out of bed or get up from sitting, etc. and that lasted until like 4-5 weeks.
Hang in there!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
First off, congratulations!!! I had two c-section's and found the second one harder to recover from. It probably took me about a month to feel like myself again. For some reason, my first one was much easier to recover from but I think that was because I didn't have a 2 year old to run around after. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: C-Section Recovery...when will I feel normal again??
I think its really hard when you have a V-birth first and then a C-section since you remember the recovery being so much easier. I remember posting the very same thing after Jack. I think it took me a solid month to start to feel somewhat ok without a lot of pain and that was WITHOUT the complications you have. I think a C-section recovery is awful! I hated it. I remember working out a week after my V-birth and with my C it was a good 3 months.
Hang in there!
