C-section scars ?

Is there anything to put on the scar to make it look less noticeable? I had a bikini cut and this red line is just bothering me. I want to make it look more like my skin color. TIA

I would use vitamin E. I used it for my two scars on my foot - it's definitely helped.

It does take time. Mine was hardly there when 1 year rolled around. I know it seems so long, but it does fade.

Thanks everyone, I figured the redness would be gone by now since Julia will be 9 mths this friday! I will try the vitamin E. How about mederma?

My OBGYN suggested using vitamin E too.
My c-section scar is really bad.

I had a surgical scar on my leg and my doctor and mom (nurse) told me Vitamin E. I went to CVS and there is something called Scar Gel (it's near the neosporian) and within 2 weeks of starting to use it my scar went from Pink to skin tone.

Re: C-section scars ?

Mine is actually not so bad - at least last I saw it which was before my belly started getting big again but I do know Vitamin E works great on scars. My son got stitches in his forhead when he was very small and massaging the Vitamin E into it really made a difference in it.

Red? My scar is white. I've been putting cocoa butter on it from time to time.

Re: C-section scars ?

I have a bikini-line scar (from a cystectomy)...the redness definitely took time to go away. Vitamin E works very well to help minimize the scar during the healing process. The numbness, otoh, still comes and goes - 14.5 years later Chat Icon

Its not red red, its more like a pink. I just want it to look more like my skin color. I'm just worried about the summer time, I dont want it to look noticeable. Chat Icon

Re: C-section scars ?

Your bathing suit covers it anyway, right? My doctor sorta cut up on an angle...so I think it's going to pop out a little...

I dont know, I'm anal about stuff like this--lol
I got a bikini cut, and the line is soooo small now that you probably wont notice it. I think its more of me wanting to cover it up for my DH, I feel like its the first thing he looks at when were intimate--lol
