C-section tummy?

My DH and I went to dinner with a couple friend of ours who brought another couple friend of theirs. The other girl, very skinny/toned, had on this small shirt so her tummy was hanging over her pants and it was all...whats the word... wrinkly?

Anyway, she had a c-section 2 years ago. My DH said that it must be the c-section that her made her stomach look like that, I said it was probably just gaining and losing a lot of weight and the separation of her stomach muscles.

Whose right?

PS My doctor told me I'm a good candidate for c-section but my DH wants me to push for vaginal so he's trying to find anything that will persuade me so I am leary.

I don't think it's the c-section. The c-section incision is so low, down in your bikini area, it wouldn't affect the look of your tummy. It sounds like it's just loose skin from all the stretching out over the 9 months!

It's more likely that it's from the pg weight gain & loss and stretching than from the c/s.

I agree. I just had a c-section and the incision is in my bikini line. I am BF'ing and that helps to contract your uterus and ab muscles. You have to do ab work after the doctor says its OK to get those muscles back into pre-pregnancy shape.

I dont think that having a c-section would do that.. I think having a baby would! Chat Icon

Unfortunately, my tummy is wrinkly from the stretching it went through. I had a c-section but it would have happened whether I had it or a vag delivery.

LOL thats what I think too! And btw, I've NEVER had a flat tummy, so I'm not too concerned on that end- but he keeps bringing it up!

Re: C-section tummy?

I think you're right...it's because she gained weight and she has all the extra skin left over. The muscles do seperate and if you do certain exercises, you can get them to come together again.

Def not a c-section. I believe it's the amount of weight she gained during her pregnancy.

Re: C-section tummy?

I think a c/s can effect your stomach muscles.
For me personally, I have found it very hard to tone the muscles that were cut. But then you see Denise Richards and she has a 6-pk so I am sure it is a combo of a few things.
What is a good c/s candidate? It is major surgery and should be used for medical reasons.

Re: C-section tummy?

It's not from a c-section. It's just from being PG for 9 months. Unfortunately I have that! Chat Icon
