c-sections and lifting

How long was it that you lifted anything over the weight of you baby?

I have a 30 pound son and need to know when i can start picking him up - for example putting him in his car seat, crib...ect.
TIA

I picked up her graco travel stroller that weighed a ton at 4 weeks. Not saying its the right time but I was semi okay.

Re: c-sections and lifting

I was always told not to lift anything heavier than the baby for 2 weeks. However, thats HARD to do when you have another child at home.

Listen to your body and do not overdo it. Thats the only advice I can give you. DO what you have to, but know your limits.

Re: c-sections and lifting

I waited 2 months before I lifted anything heavy, I was nervous of bleeding, I over did it when I first came home and had lots of clots come out (sorry TMI).

Re: c-sections and lifting

I was told nothing heavier than the baby until my first PP checkup. At that checkup he told me to only lift what I could tolerate. I didn't have another child at home, so the only lifting I did was a laundry bag.
