C25K People: Week 4-5

Hello all. I completed week 4 today and am looking for some BTDT advice. I only run on a treadmill due to a very limited schedule- I have to run during naptime. Anyway, I found week 4 to be pretty rough, though I did complete each day of this week's runs fully. I'm wondering if I should go on to week 5 since I felt like it was a real challenge or should I redo week 4? Is it supposed to feel easy before I move on to the next week? TBH, I really do not want to repeat week 4. I am planning on a 5K on October 8th, so I am on track to finish the C25K program one week before the race. Any runners out there with advice? Help a newbie please! Chat Icon

I never made it past Week 5 because I hurt my knee. I say try Week 5. If it's too much than you can always go back to week 4 for a couple of days until you feel more comfortable. You never know, you may make it through Week 5 just fine.

I was actually the same way, slightly struggled with week 4 but made it through... looked ahead to week 5 and was definitely intimidated, but I really had no trouble with week 5! It felt great to really start to increase the run time and I realized that I am perfectly capable! I would say the same, try week 5. If you dont complete it fully, then repeat week 5. HTH

Thanks ladies! I did W5D1 today and it wasn't bad at all!! I'm kinda scared for W5D2's 8 minute run but hopefully it won't be that bad. I appreciate the pep talk! Chat Icon

You can do it! Mind over matter. I FINALLY got past week 5 this week by repeating my workout mantra "Just do it. Just do it. Just do it". And then, it was done.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! Much to my surprise and pleasure, I completed Week 5 this past Sunday! That 20 minute run was hard though!! Keep up the great work! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
