C25K, week 7

Does it ever get easier? I've done the 25 minute run like 6 times, and only actually completed it successfully 3x (and that was with two 10-15 second breaks). I feel like I do it once, the next time I don't have the strength or stamina to do it Chat Icon I feel like I'm losing my motivation because I'm not succeeding with it the way I wanted to. Any advice or tips you can share? How do you keep motivated?

I wanted to add that I love running, it helps clear my head, but when it gets really hard I don't love it so much anymore Chat Icon I am an extremely determined person in every aspect of my life EXCEPT diet & fitness. This is the only thing I've stuck to for this long and I need some motivation to push through this right now.

Sign up for a 5k. Seriously.
I just checked my app & I stopped at week 8 day 1. I knew I had to just go for it & sign up for a 5k. Training for an actual race is what will keep you going.

Totally agree with pp! Its such great motivation! I cannot comment on the C25K program specifically since I did not follow it but I wanted to wish you luck and keep it up, you can definitely do it! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Do you take day off in between? I would not run 2 days in a row in the beginning. I would just keep doing it and it will get easier. Your body will get used to it and then you can move onto the next week.

Re: C25K, week 7

I have 2 problems with this.
1. No one to watch DS for 5k (I run with him in the jogger). I know there was a family 5k at Coney Island maybe? I could probably do that if it doesn't interfere with:
2. I am doing IVF middle or late Sept, and I can't exercise for 2 weeks.

Does anyone know when that race is scheduled for, or can someone post the link please?

Excellent advice!! For beginners to lifelong runners. We all have overtraining/burnout moments. Slowing down can help you increase your endurance.
