Cabana Bay Resort (Universal Orlando)

Has anyone stayed here? I'd love a first hand review. How was it staying on property? Is the convenience worth the price? Did you get any discounts other than booking a package with tickets? Is there a place to grab a quick, affordable breakfast?

I'm planning a 9 night trip in Feb 2017. We could stay at an Embassy Suite on points and get 7 nights for free, pay out of pocket (approx. $450) the other 2 nights. Hot breakfast included.

I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan and going for those parts of the parks as well as Disney. I know they have an HP package but I plan to get our park tickets on discount through work so I really am only interested in the hotel.

Also, are there any Universal travel agents that could help with discounts, options, etc. I see tons of Disney travel agents mentioned but never Universal.

Right now the price of the family suite is roughly $190/night so it's a big expense. I'm trying to figure if it's worth it. TIA!!!

We are going in August, so I can't give you a first-hand review. We chose to stay at Royal Pacific (on property) over Cabana Bay because, although this hotel was slightly more expensive, we are getting both early admission to the parks and express passes (which exclude the Harry Potter rides, but works on everything else).
