Cabo San Lucas!!!
Has anyone ever been there? Love it, hate it? I've never been and this would be my first vacation EVER, and I mean EVER. Any recommendations of hotels/resorts would be so appreciated!!!

Re: Cabo San Lucas!!!
We went to Cabo for our honeymoon - we had the best time and pretty much did everything - ATV tour through the desert to the beach was my favorite.
We stayed at the Hilton and absolutely loved it but there are so many great hotels you really can't go wrong.
We set up most of our trips and excursions though our hotel. Dinner on the beach is fun as well as massages.
It's a total pamper yourself and/or adventure (atv, jet ski) type of place.

I'm going in about 3 1/2 weeks! This will be our first time to Cabo but we have been to Mexico a few times now. I have only heard great things about Cabo. We are staying at the Dream's Resort, our travel agent suggested it.

Re: Cabo San Lucas!!!
LOVED IT! We stayed at Villa La Estancia. Cabo was AWESOME! Be sure to take a glass bottom boat out to the arch and go snorkeling out there etc. ATV tours are a must too-sooo much fun and so pretty along the beach. And honestly-we did a timeshare presentation for a goof-took about 2 hours and we received free massages, wave runners, dinner etc-just for listening to the presentation. Kinda worth it....but only if you do it at your own hotel-don't travel for it. Definitely hit Office Bar and Mango Deck...they are restaurants/bars on the beach. Oh this is going to sound weird...but we had THE BEST italian food in Cabo-place was called Romeo and Julieta's. Soooo good. Let me know if you have any questions!

We stayed at the Dream's resort for our HM and we loved it.
While the resort was gorgeous and the town was pretty, honestly, no offense, but I have to say in my very own personal opinion, Cabo was not my favorite vacation spot. The flight from LGA was tedious with the stop-over in Dallas (although there are direct flights out of Newark). I wasn't crazy about the beach or the ocean there. We did everyting there was to do but there wasn't a lot on offer. I prefer the caribbean and if I were to advise someone on where to go for their first vacation, I would recommend a caribbean island over Cabo.

Re: Cabo San Lucas!!!
We stayed at Las Ventanas last year and loved it so much. Words cant even express it. We were hanging with all the celebs there- Rachel Hunter, Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, Hugh Hefner and his main girl, Michelle Kwan (nicest chick ever, btw!)- to name a few. It was luxury times 6! You have to go. Better than my honeymoon.
In terms of restaurants, we ate out at One and Only Palmilla's Agua restaurant, Nick-San, and Edith's on the water. Also, we walked around and had brunch at Esperanza. Terrific!

Re: Cabo San Lucas!!!
I got engaged in Cabo!!!!!
It was really nice, but strange how the nightlife is on the marina side and there aren't many hotels there, so it's a bit to get to the area.... We stayed at my boss' timeshare on the marina so it was nice to be close to the nightlife, but we had to walk 10 min to get to the beach. We jet skiied and spent some time on Lover's Island, went fishing and caugt our own dinner! We brough the dorado (mahi mahi) to a restaurant right on the beach (forget the name) and they cooked it for us, that was great.....very romantic too.... We went to Sammy Hagar's restaurant and bar Cabo Wabo, very nice as well....
Now for the cons....
I was very sick for most of our trip. I *believe* it was from a salad I ate at the timeshare resort. If your hotel is newer and bigger, the filtration shouldn't be a problem though. That put a bit of a damper on things for me. The night I got engaged I was sick as a dog..... The only other thing tht bugged me really badly was the CONSTANT peddling of goods on the beaches. However we stayed ona public beach in front of a bar, so a private hotel's beach is likely to be different. I can't tell you how annoying it is to have people constantly in your face selling you blankets, hats, necklaces, pottery, braids, sunglasses....you name it, they were selling it. Even the KIDS were pushing stuff!! ANd if you bought or showed interest in 1 thing, you got swarmed.... This also happened when we were at that romantic dinner I was talking about. These rowdy raucous Texans were having dinner next to us and the restaurant has signs asking you not to purchase from the peddlers circling the restaurant. SO what do these people do? THey decide dinner would be a good time to get henna tattoos..... !!! I wanted to kill them. They even asked us to use one of the chairs at my table, I almost died.... Now I had little kids putting little toys on my dinner table trying to get $$ from us. I freaked and yelled at them, that's how annoying it is. When we were walking somewhere to go shopping there was a wall of Mexicans waiting to sell us something, I freaked on them too, screaming "I DO NOT WANT TO BUY ANYTHING NOW GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" DH must have thought I was crazy, and wondered who he just got engaged to......
Oh, and you MUST have dinner at Lorenzillos, soooooo nice and romantic, dinner onthe rooftop....beautiful!!!!
OK, I think that's enough! FM me if you need more info, have fun!!!!

Re: Cabo San Lucas!!!
I went to Cabo last summer and had a GREAT time. We stayed at the RIU. I would go back. I loved going to all the bars at night and we even did the "Sunset" cruise. I say a better name is booze cruise was more fitting! LoL
