Caboodle Ranch in Florida--owner arrested and cats taken by authorities

I am absolutely sick over this...I can PERSONALLY vouch for this place, and it sickens me that these cats were "rescued" from a place where they were loved, well-fed and well taken care of. Chat Icon

Re: Caboodle Ranch in Florida--owner arrested and cats taken by authorities

I saw the PETA video a couple of months ago and was torn. I tried to imagine what it was like to care for so many cats with what seemed like little help. I also tried to take into account that he allowed visitors. That if things were so deplorable that people would have reported it DAILY. That animal lovers would be outraged. But all I really found was a small faction that were anti=Caboodle. It sounded to me like they had a personal agenda against the ranch. I am willing to concede that perhaps there were sick animals. I am willing to concede that perhaps things got dirty. However I think this personal vendetta is misplaced. It sounds like there are other agendas at work here, specifically local politics.

In the end, I do not know how the cats are better off now. The have been trapped and are in cages and it breaks my heart. Chat Icon

You hit the nail on the head. Craig (the owner) spoke openly about his critics--he frequently says that he is disliked in the community because of his cat "hoarding", but that animal control visits regularly, his license is up-to-date and he has never ONCE had a violation.

It's disgusting...politics destroys pretty much anything good these days, doesn't it? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
