Cakes from BJs
I was thinking about ordering the boys birthday cake from BJs and I was wondering what everyone experience have been. Do they offer many decorating choices? Or would you just go to a bakery.

I am getting mine from there. They have some of their decorating choices online. They didnt have what I was looking for, so they are working with me. STill only $20..and I htink the cakes taste pretty good!
I was going for a fancy cake, but our budget kind of bust with this birthday party so far..so we cut where we can.

Re: Cakes from BJs
I have ordered all the girls' cakes from BJs. DD#1 had Sesame Street last year and Disney Princesses this year. DD#2 I had "custom" decorated with flowers. A half-sheet is like $25! The cakes have been delicious and I am totally pleased!!

Re: Cakes from BJs
I had originally decided to do DS' cake for his birthday. The night before we realized I completely ran out of time.
DS went to BJs that night. Unfortunatelly we could not do a specific design because of such a short notice. We needed it the next morning. So there was no special order at that point.
The man totally worked with us as much as he could. We wanted a backyardigans cake. He took a cake, and completely adapted. We could not do the backyardigans cake in such short notice but by changing the color of the icing, it really worked out great. I put the Pablo candle on it and it was perfect with the theme table clothe, napkins, etc...
The cake was delicious.

What fillings do you recommend? Although there doesnt seem to be that many choices. I am doing a carnival theme do you think they would create that for me?

Re: Cakes from BJs
I absolutely loved my cake from BJs that I ordered for DDs baptism.
I got a half sheet, marble cake with chocolate filling.
It didn't cost any extra for the picture or the writing. They were very flexibale and decorated it exactly how I wanted it.

Re: Cakes from BJs
We had a BJ's cake for DS's birthday last year and it was delicious. We ordered the Sesame Street one. It was so good that we are thinking about ordering another one for his next birthday.
