Calcifications in Breasts
I went for my first mammography last week and I am freaking out right now because they just called to tell me they found some calcifications and the doctor wants to take further pictures. Has anyone ever been diagnosed with this?
I looked it up a little bit online but it just makes me more nervous, so I don't want to look anymore.

i do all the time, i have them removed rather be safe then sorry... it's really not a big thing , almost every girl gets them. i have had 3 lumps removed 2 of them were calcifications, the 3rd one was some form of a cyst. don't rememeber the name though you will be fine!!

I don't feel any lumps. I don't know anything - how do they remove them? Do they cut and go in or just with a needle or something? I'm like you - I would rather be safe than sorry.

i had them removed in a twilight sleep with a very very small incicion(sp) and it was done in about 15 to 20 min. best cat nap i ever had it depends on how big it is and other things that they use to determine how tio go about removing it. if they even need too! some are just left alone

I am such a hypochondriac it's ridiculous. You can't even imagine the tizzy I am working myself into over this.

My SIL has these. They just check her mammogram every year to make sure they don't grow. She has had them for years!
