Call me what you want but I do not want to be the fat bridesmaid!!!!!

OK, I know I am jumping the gun a little, but DH and I are actively TTC and my friend just booked her wedding for 9/15/07 and it just dawned on me that I could potentially either be a blimp preggo ready to pop (the worse of 2 evils) or having just given birth and having a ton of baby weight to lose (if we get preggo NOW).

I am pretty vain so please don't flame, just tell me that I won't ruin her pictures.....

why would you think you would ruin her pics? don't be silly! whether you're a mom to be, a mom or neither of the above, you will look beautiful

You will be fine. Don't worry about pics, try to focus on how much it would mean to your friend to have you in her wedding . . .

i just saw your wedding pic and there is no way you can ever ruin any pics imo.

You will look even more beautiful, pregnant women have this glow.

No flaming here either. But I think you are jumping the gun with your worrying. First off, you won't ruin her pictures, no matter what. Your wedding pictures reflect the people who you love the most to invite them into your bridal party. So if they are pregnant, or carrying baby weight, it won't matter to her.

But I think it matters to you. I would talk to your friend and let her know your concerns up front. Ask her if you would be able to back out closer to the wedding depending on your pregnancy status.

Also- you have no idea (1) when you'll get pregnant (2) how you'll carry and (3) when you will lose your baby weight. So I wouldn't start worrying now.

I didn't blow up until my last month of pregnancy. In fact when I was 7 months I went to a party and a few poeple didn't notice I was pregnant, until I pointed to my big belly. I was also in a wedding 5 months after I had the baby and I was back to my old size -well almost (I'm nursing).

You won't ruin her pictures!!!!!!! My mom and dad have been married since 1962 and she still complains that her sister wouldn't be in her bridal party because she was pregnant and didn't want to ruin my parents pictures. If a bride remembers that after 44 years, then your friend will remember it too! Be her friend on her special day, and enjoy every minute of it!!!!!!

IMO there's nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman. Sure it changes your body but it's for the most beautiful reward.

If any of my girls had been pregnant and "huge" it would not have bothered me one bit. I bet your friend wouldn't mind either.

Honestly....I was 7 weeks PP at my cousin's wedding last year. I had Bella 3 1/2 weeks early, so there was always the potential to either be 3 1/2 weeks PP or like 1-2 weeks PP...so I was in the same position as you.

I gained 52 pounds total

I lost 25-30 before the wedding.
Was I thrilled with my look? hell no!
Do I think I ruined her pics? No...
Am I ordering copies of my own...um, no...

I had a GREAT time and you just remind yourself that hello, you just had a baby! A lot of people were complimenting me about how great I looked...

No flames here cause I'd be feeling the same way. But there's no sense in worrying about it now, if you are preggo you'll be too busy basking in your mommy-to-be glee to care about her pictures. Just smile and beam when the camera is pointed in your direction.

This was me before my brother's wedding! He was married in July and I was MOH. They (brother and SIL) knew dh and I were trying...Turns out, I didnt get pregnant right away, took us a while.
Was I pg at the wedding..Yes, I was but early on..I was 12 weeks! My dress still fit, everything was comfy (Oooh except the bra) and everyone was happy.
Like another poster said, "Dont jump the gun" because you never know when its going to happen.
Will you ruin the pics...NO Way!!!!

Forgive my sappy philosophies but...

...marriage is about celebrating the creation of family. What better way to show the appreciation for the concept of family than to have someone who is pregnant and extending THEIR family to be a part of such a wonderful day.

My MOH gave birth 11 days before my wedding and she looked great in the pics, don't fret, you will be fine.

I LOST weight when I was pregnant. 40 lbs with my first. 22 with my second. I never looked better. I joke that I should get pregnant again so I can lose some weight again.

You don't know how you're going to look. And no matter HOW you look, your friend asked YOU to be in her bridal party because of you...not how you look.

my sil was 7 months preggo at my wedding and my other friend was 4 months.

the photogragher palced them perfectly.

Both my SIL's had come off being pregnant by the time my wedding rolled around. I don't think they ruined my pictures by any means!!!
