Calling all Mommies...need help with finding a photo studio
My SIL and 6 week old niece are here for the whole week! I bought her a halloween outfit and want to take her to have halloween pictures taken. I checked out Picture People and they seem pricey, but what do I know. Can anyone recommend a place that will use cute props and can do infants at a reasonable price?
TIA!!

Target, you can call ahead for an appointment. Not all targets have a portrait studios. I think it's only Setauket, Bayshore and Levittown but you might want to check their site.

Where are you located? If you're near Huntington, I could do it for you for free. (Yeah digital!)

Don't use the Target in Levittown. They are not good working with young babies IMO.

I agree I was dragged there for a grandkid photoshoot for my MIL. They were so impatient. You're taking pictures of 6 kids, you have to be patient. Also -I thought their backgrounds were horrible. Best place I've been to prop-wise was Kiddie Kandids.

I took Sarah there for her Christening picture and they didn't have any toys to distract her with, the lady pulls out a dirty feather duster and couldn't understand why I didn't want her to touch Sarah with it. YUCK! And the lights were bright in her eyes and she was crying and the lady asked me "does she ever stop crying?" She had colic so actually she didn't stop crying much, but I was trying my best. None of the usual tricks worked since Sarah could pick up on the photographer's frustration. It turned into a very stressful situation for me.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with the picture taking. Especially since Sarah is such a beauty - what awesome eyes

I'm sorry your experience was bad there. Surprising because I LOVE Kiddy Kandids! Are you sure the feather duster was dirty? I know that they buy feather dusters specifically for tickling children. Same with Picture People.

Re: Calling all Mommies...need help with finding a photo studio
I used to work at Sears Portrait. I think for the most part they're very good. I used to LOVE doing Halloween. Look on the site for coupons. The Garden City and Hicksville Studios I know are good for a fact. Valley Stream less so.

I think you misunderstood. Sarahsmommy - you were talking about Target in Levittown with the feather duster, right?

Yes, Target in Levittown. Maybe it was a new feather duster, but it looked dirty to my mom and I.
