Calling all Subs??

I just have a question. How many times a week do you get called to Sub? Also are you on more then one school districts sub list??

before xmas i was getting called everyday. now its like once a week. it depends on if you want to sub for middle and highschool too. i am on one list, i hate subbing and need to find a different job! It's scary going into a school you've never been. Plus, I hate getting those calls at 4 am. I just need something else!

i'm on 2 lists. i need to be called in advanced because i have to make sure someone can watch my daughter. I usually only take jobs when I am requested. I also hate subbing.

I am a permenant sub at one district....but there is another district that calls me all the time still.

I see. My husband is subbing now also but he has been getting called pretty much everyday but we also live in the school district so we are close to the schools. But he is hoping to get on another district subbing list. How do you choose which one to take when they both call??

I take which ever one comes first. lol

I perfer my old district over this other one, only because I am more familiar with the schools, buildings, students and faculty.

I sub in 2 districts. I DONT want them to call me only because I cant go last minute, I need babysitting. One has the online sub system, I checked off NO CALLS from day one. I call them when I can work (or check online for one districT) and they usually have assignments for me on the spot or within 24hrs. Ive also spoken to subs in the same district who are not called for months straight.

If I want to work, there's work every single day, but I usually work on and off, no set amount, but maybe ten days per month. There are schools that request me so I do prefer 2-3 schools where IVe gotten to know many people.

I am on one list and could sub everyday if I wanted to. There are 5 schools in the district.

If I were on more than one list, I would just sub on a first come, first serve basis..
