Calling all Teacher Moms....
How are we going to go back to work after this summer? I am DREADING it!
She was only 8 weeks when I went back to work -- now she'll be nearly a year .... so she'll miss me as well I am thinking.
It is going to be so hard and the summer is going SO fast!

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
I really don't want to go back , She'll be 5 months by the time I go back to work. I know I've been lucky to have these 5 months, but it doesn't make it any easier
I'm working on doing Early Intervention for next year, so I could only work a couple of days per week.

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
I took my daughter up to her day care last week just to visit. I didn't leave her there and she freaked. She will be 16 months when I go back and it's going to be hard. It's all about Mommy right now, she doesn't like me to leave her sight. I can't imagine come September.

Jamie --- it's just like that for us. She has gotten SOOO attached. I can't tell you the number of times in a day when she's just sitting there on the floor looking at me with her arms up in the air, wanting me to hold her.
She does these squishy face cuddle things now when she smushes her face into mine really hard and just stays there for a few minutes --- super super close.
I am going to miss her sooooooooooo much. How will I get through the day without that????

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
OK...I've been avoiding your post because I don't even want to think about it.....I'm going to miss my little girl so much and the summer is going by so fast! Plus I'm go back to school in September for another Masters and I'm probably going to be so exhausted. I wonder if she'll be sad when I leave her in the morning? I bet she won't though because she loves her babysitter and her son....she would always get so excited when I would knock on the door in the morning.....somethimes she would even get upset to leave.....that made me feel crappy!

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
I'm in the same boat. I'm trying not to think about it b/c when I do I get very, very sad. That's why I spend every second he's awake with him and I try not to leave him with someone for too long. I went to the dentist last night and I was gone for a total of one hour and I couldn't wait to get back home to see him. I can't imagine how I'm going to go for seven hours without seeing him. :

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
I have a five year old and a 17 month old, and every summer, as August looms ahead, I start dreading going back to school. The first summer after I had Max, I was sad A LOT, and I don't think I spent enough time savoring the time I DID have with him. Now I try to appreciate having so much time with my kids each summer. I focus on the positive-my children are very strong personalities who are VERY good at negotiating interpersonal situations, since they've spent time with lots of different people. When I get home from work, I'm EXCITED to see my kids, rather than wondering when DH will be home so I can hand off the crying baby. Also, my house is messy, I make a lot of "prepared" dinners for DH and me, and I let my kids stay up later than they probably should. It's always difficult in September, but as soon as the kids get back into the regular routine, I feel somewhat better.
OK, who am I trying to convince? You or myself..........

Steven is exactly the same way. And now whenever I walk out of the room he wimpers Even if my DH is there( which really annoys him!) I feel really bad for my mom who will be watching him because I know in the beginning it will be very tough!!!

I wish I had the answers On Wed for our anniversary my Mom came to baby sit and I just went to the car to get something and she saw me grab my keys and go out the door and she freaked. I came in calmed her down. I then had to go upstairs to finish getting ready and she freaked again It breaks my heart. I wanted to start working on another masters soon but I honestly don't know how I am going to be able to with her getting so upset. It just breaks my heart

Re: Calling all Teacher Moms....
Ihave been dreading it myself. I have a 3 yr old DS and an 8month old DD. We have had SOOO much fun this summer. My husband is a teacher also so I am really lucky. I have also been taken 15 credits online to move up the pay scale but I'd cut my arm off to stay home. The only thing I can pray for at this point is to win the lotto. Hey it's only a dollar and a dream right. well we all have dreams so pull out your dollars ladies and dream big!! LOL!
