Calling all women - need your thoughts!
I have a question for all your ladies and I would love to hear your thoughts!
I have a great group of friends - consisting of couples mostly. There are about 2 or 3 guys in this group that truely believe that men are smarter than women.
They are very competitive guys and my girlfriends and I just kind of laugh it off.
I personally do not believe in a blanket statement that all guys are smarter than girls, just because they are guys!
These guys think they would automatically win in an IQ test, just because they are guys (and they honestly believe they are brilliant).
Anytime there is an email sent out between all of us with a riddle or something, and one of the girls get it right, they automatically accuse of of looking it up on the Internet.
I think it's very narrowminded and it makes them sound not-so intelligent to make a blanket statement that men are automatically smarter than women.
What are your thoughts on this?

They're wrong, and they're the unintelligent ones for thinking this. This is 2007, not 1907, for crying out loud!!!!!!

just because they have a Y chromosone? Does the Y chromosone have more intelligence?
Men and women have the same intelligence..there is no gender bias scientifically proven.
Men can make condiments a meal..
yeah..smart.

Unfortunately, I think it is very difficult to change the minds of people like your friends. I am in a mostly male dominated field and we all had to go through the same rigorous coursework in school and have to pass the same diffiuclt licensing exam. I found that very few of the guys I went to school with thought they were smarter than me, but we were all working in the same environment. Those that might have had this attitude changed their tune when they saw how I kicked their butt on exams and projects.
DH has a friend who I am sure thinks men are smarter than women, and has very traditional ideas of what men and women "should" do. I used to get really annoyed with him, but now I just chalk it up to ignorance.
