Calling Creative Mommas - Bday Party

I know its early, but I am already starting to think of the twins First Birthday Party in August. I know I want to do a Mickey Mouse theme. Because they LOVE Mickey's Clubhouse This will be my first kids party to plan so I am a bit lost. So I am looking for creative ideas:) I am thinking I could do it in the yard, but not sure I want the work. (hire people?)

As far as entertainment, what did you guys have for a first bday besides a character?

I am also intrested in using LI Vendors or moms that do their own cupcakes/favors, so if anyone has recommendations, I would appreciate it.

P.S. I pintrested "mickey mouse party" and got zilch.

if you do it in your back yard, i'd definitely hire people to serve and clean up.

entertainment: depending on the # of kids you are having some sort of magic show or balloons, etc.

you can do hot dog fix it station (for the show, hot doggity dog).

for cupcakes i highly recommend Cupcakes for Sophia's Cure they are delicious and all the proceeds go to the Sophia's Cure Foundation.

for cookies/favors: The cookie Lady. they are gorgeous and taste delicious.

My cousin just did the theme for her son's 1st birthday. I did the invite, etc.

Check out etsy for ideas... they have lots. Also I booked a Mickey Mouse Puppet Show for DD's 1st birthday in April. I am using Small World Entertainment. I used them for DS's 1st bday 3 years ago and they were great. I did the Silly Songs show. When I did Mickey for his 2nd bday, I purchased Mickey and Minnie airwalkers online and filled them myself. They were a hit.
