Calling my fellow NJers! Permit Question
Do any of you know if you have to get a permit if you are redoing your bathroom(s)?
The contractor we are probably hiring to do both our bathrooms was here today to take measurements, listen to our ideas and give us an estimate. He said we would probably need to get a permit because if we were caught doing work without a permit, we could be fined.
Do you know if this is true? This would also probably mean that our taxes would go up and our taxes are already 15k!

I have no idea-- but I would look on some government sites and see if you can find anything- you can also always call your realtor and see what they have to say.

Re: Calling my fellow NJers! Permit Question
We got permits for everything! However....my DH is a strict rule follower, so we figured it we got the permits up front and did things the right way, it would be better in the long run when we go to sell. Because...if we didn't get the permits now...we would certainly have to pay in the end!
But...I know plenty of people who don't get the permits...not sure what happens when/if they sell though.
